From 22 September to 03 October 2025, the Multinational Peace Support Operations Training Center (MPSOTC) successfully conducted the “NATO CIMIC Field Workers Course”, with the participation of 38 trainees from 13 nations.
The primary objective of the course was to equip participants with the essential knowledge and skills in Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC), emphasizing the importance of effective collaboration between NATO military forces, civil authorities, and various governmental and non-governmental organizations during Peace Support Operations (PSO).
Throughout the course, a comprehensive curriculum was delivered by experienced instructors from MPSOTC and international institutions, including the NATO Civil-Military Cooperation Centre of Excellence (CCOE), the Multinational CIMIC Group, the Military Training Center for Foreign Operations (MTCfFO), the 1st Special Warfare Training Group (A), the 21st Theater Sustainment Command, the Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum, and the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Greece (NRDC-GR).
The academic program covered critical training areas such as NATO’s Civil-Military Cooperation Doctrine, negotiation techniques, and the vital role of humanitarian and civil organizations in operational environments.
Additionally, the course addressed key topics including Resilience and NATO Cross-Cutting Themes, highlighting their significance in modern military operations.
A practical exercise enabled trainees to actively apply their acquired knowledge through realistic scenarios and challenges, conducted with the valuable support of Local Authorities and the Kilkis Police Directorate.
Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) remains a cornerstone of NATO Forces’ operational capability, particularly during the initial phases of deployment, and continues to play a decisive role across the spectrum of operations.
The course, conducted in strict accordance with NATO standards, reaffirms MPSOTC’s unwavering commitment to operational excellence and to the promotion of meaningful, effective cooperation—a key enabler for the success of Peace Support Operations.
