The Greek MPSOTC recently conducted a pivotal training program titled ‘Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT)’ in collaboration with MEDUCATION, a renowned international medical training institute specializing in Emergency Prehospital Care and First Aid.

The course, which ran from 13 to 17 November 2023, was a comprehensive initiative designed to significantly enhance the preparedness of individuals working in high-risk environments and to augment their awareness and understanding of the multifaceted threats encountered in hostile settings.

The curriculum was designed to equip participants with effective strategies for mitigating risks, boosting their survivability in adverse conditions.

The training was an immersive experience, combining theoretical knowledge with practical, field-based exercises. Participants had the opportunity to engage with state-of-the-art simulators and equipment, mirroring real-life scenarios.

The extensive training covered a wide array of critical topics including car simulators for emergency scenarios, medical skills and first aid techniques, hostage survival strategies, communications and navigation essentials, mobile security protocols, roadblocks, weapons and explosives familiarization, Special weapons and tactics, and use of drones, thermal imaging and ROVs.

A noteworthy achievement of the course was the ISO implementation to the HEAT Certificate by Meducation and the 3 extra first aid certificates that were awarded to the participants, marking a significant enhancement of their skills and readiness.

Overall, the HEAT program stands as a testament to the Greek MPSOTC’s commitment to advancing the capabilities of individuals facing hostile environments, ensuring they are well-prepared, informed, and equipped to handle a spectrum of challenging situations.
